We flew out of Nicaragua to our US home in Atlanta, Georgia, on Monday, 12/15. It's been an interesting, long, tiring trip from Asuncion, Paraguay. We left our home in Asuncion on October 19th, to begin living in MANY hotels. We actually drove out of Asuncion on October 23rd; so that's 58 days living in hotels, and 54 days of traveling. We reached Nicaragua just 36 hours before our scheduled (and paid for) flight to Atlanta! We'll be in the states just till Dec. 30th. It's our grandson's first Christmas, so we couldn't resist sharing Christmas with him and our daughters & son-in-law.

We still have 1 more major hurdle to jump. Remember our container that left Asuncion, heading for Nicaragua? Well, while we were in Guayaquil, Ecuador, we found out the container was in Honduras, waiting for the paperwork to be filed in Nicaragua. We have a friend in Nicaragua, who is a lawyer, helping us with the paperwork. From Ecuador, we FedEx-ed him the paperwork, and hoped all was well. Well - it was ALMOST well. We talked with Luis (our friend) while we were in Costa Rica. He needed additional paperwork from us. We waited till we got to Nicaragua and on into Chinandega (where he lives) to give him all the papers we have. You may be wondering why the container is in Honduras. Apparently our shipping agent in Paraguay, shipped the container to a port on the Caribbean side of Honduras in order to avoid the expense of going through the Panama Canal. From Honduras, it is to be trucked to Corinto, Nicaragua. From Corinto, Luis and his team would pick up the contents of the container. Here is where we need your help as prayer warriors. Luis would like for the container to be dropped in Chinandega instead of Corinto. The truck has to pass through Chinandega to get to Corinto - only problem is, yes, paperwork & custom's agents! If all involved parties agree and all goes well (and with your prayers), our container SHOULD be in Chinandega by the end of this week or first of next week (that's 12/18 or 12/21).

Please check our regular web site at www.aguadevida.org for information about the container. It should be in our Monthly Journal section, HOPEFULLY with the entry for December, 2008. We will not be updating this travel journal.

We've enjoyed having you with us for these past 58 days. If you would like to contact us, please use our regular e-mail address of edlindabaker@yahoo.com. This travel jounal should still be available for several months, but we will not be checking it as regularly.

Thank you all for being a part of our travels, and Merry Chritmas to everyone!
